Pupils can be admitted to the European School The Hague from the moment that they are four years old. The school offers education for pupils from Early Years up to Secondary year 6 in the 2017-2018 school year. Additional year groups will open annually, culminating in our first European Baccalaureate in the summer of 2019.
The European School The Hague was founded to meet the educational needs of children of employees of Eurojust, Europol, EPO and ESA-ESTEC and the European Commission.These children have a reserved place in our school and are referred to as Category I pupils. All other pupils are referred to as Category III pupils and can be placed upon availability and if they meet the criteria below:
- He/she has another nationality than the Dutch nationality and the pupils' parents, guardians or carers work in the Netherlands or the border area of the Netherlands on a temporary basis, or;
- He/she has the Dutch nationality and was educated abroad for a period of two years or more, because of the fact that at least one of the parents, guardians or carers worked abroad for a limited period of time, or;
- He/she has the Dutch nationality and at least one of the parents, guardians or carers, as confirmed in writing by the employer, will be working abroad for at least two years and within two years of admission into the school. The pupil will live with this parent, guardian or carer.
